What is Access 2 All Areas?

Access 2 All Areas is a voluntary group that has been in existence since 2005. We have recently received grants from the Big Lottery and Salford CVS.

The group is concerned with ensuring that Salford public buildings and open spaces are accessible to people with disabilities.

Our membership is made up of people from across the City who have a range of different disabilities as well as their carers and other interested people.

The group’s primary purpose is to carry out access audits of premises and open spaces (such as parks) to ensure that they are accessible to everyone and that they comply with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

We have had a great deal of success in not only making sure facilities are accessible but we also pride ourselves in having changed attitudes.
